API Access

The Scoville Splice API provides programmatic access to specimen data, SHU calculations, and blend ratios. API tokens are issued to active licensees as part of their Specimen, Sector, Genome, or Platform license.

Endpoints

GET /v1/specimens

List all cultivar specimens available under your license, with target SHU, pathogen level, and metadata.

GET /v1/specimens/{slug}

Full specification for a single cultivar: SHU, five-capsaicinoid blend ratios, burn profile data, onset and duration scores.

POST /v1/shu/convert

Convert between SHU and capsaicinoid concentration (ppm, mg/kg) using the Scoville Splice calibration curve.

POST /v1/blend/model

Model the burn profile (onset, duration, intensity curve) for a specified five-capsaicinoid blend ratio.

GET /v1/batches

Query current batch availability, QC status, and release windows for licensed cultivars (Platform license only).

Authentication

All requests require a bearer token in the Authorization header. Tokens are issued per-license and scoped to the endpoints available under that tier.

Rate Limits & SLA

Standard rate limits are 1,000 requests per hour. Higher limits and SLA guarantees are available for Platform license holders.
