The Specimen License provides access to individual cultivar specifications from the Scoville Splice lineup. Choose from any of our 10 engineered Capsicum chinense cultivar designs, spanning 3 million to 13 million SHU.
What’s Included
Target SHU Specification
The precise Scoville Heat Unit target for the selected cultivar, along with the total capsaicinoid concentration in mg/g. Values range from 223.5 mg/g (Heat 01, 3M SHU) to 858.7 mg/g (Heat 10, 13M SHU).
Five-Capsaicinoid Blend Ratios
The exact percentage breakdown of all five capsaicinoids: capsaicin, dihydrocapsaicin, nordihydrocapsaicin, homodihydrocapsaicin, and nonivamide. These ratios define the heat character — onset speed, burn location, duration, and intensity profile.
Burn Profile Data
Onset speed (1-10 scale), burn duration (1-10 scale), and qualitative burn profile classification. Three tiers across the lineup: slow-building body burn (3-4.3M SHU), aggressive mid-mouth assault (5.1-7M SHU), and instantaneous sinus-stripping strike (8.2-13M SHU).
Target Phenotype
High-level description of the genetic modifications required to achieve the target SHU, including which pathway genes are modified and the type of modification (knockout, overexpression, or enzyme variant).
